Philanthropy & Service

Our philanthropy is Upside Down and the Schriever Lions Club.

Upside Downs is a nonprofitorganization committed to helping the Down syndrome community through new parent support, recreational activities, raising awareness and advocating for a brighter future.

We are also the only chapter on campus that has established, annual events. Each fall, we hold our Chili Bowl and Golf Tournament, and we put on Donut Dash in the spring. This past fall, we put on Feed and Fund Lafourche in order to help those affected by Hurricane Ida. We were able to cook and serve over 2,000 hot plate lunches as well as distribute over $15,000 worth of groceries to victims of the storm.

Members of Louisiana Chi not only put on philanthropy events but supports the philanthropy events of the sororities whether its a donation or creating teams to participate in the event.

Members of the Louisiana Chi chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon hosted "Trunip For What" event at the Boulet farm in Larose, Louisiana. Members helped harvest turnips that were donated to the New Orleans Second Harvest Food Bank. A total of 15,000 lbs of turnips were picked.
