History of Louisiana Chi

Located in Thibodaux, Louisiana at Nicholls State University, Louisiana Chi has been considered a top chapter in SAE since its founding 17 years ago. To stay on top this long is a rare feat for any chapter, especially one at a University with less than 6,000 students. What has set us apart has been our tradition of doing Fraternity the right way.

Our chapter was founded for the right reasons. A group of men came together who wanted a Fraternity experience that wasn’t yet offered at Nicholls. They wanted more than just parties; they wanted an environment that would build each other up to make them better men.  They wanted more than just friends; they wanted loyal brothers who would develop them into leaders on campus and in the community. They wanted more than letters; they wanted the meaning behind them.

The tradition created back then has been a powerful force in motivating our members. The sacrifices brothers had to make to get Louisiana Chi started and to revolutionize Greek life makes us appreciate the reputation we have been given. Our members are still making sacrifices to ensure the ideals of our founders are at the center of all we do. We are sustained by the fact that we realize our higher purpose in this organization. We have an impact around the country as we set the standard of what being in a Fraternity can really mean.
