"Why should I rush a fraternity?"

It is one of the most common questions asked amongst male college students, and what a loaded question it truly is. Fraternities cost money, they take up a bulk of your free time, and you already have all the friends you need. So why should you choose to rush?

The answer is simple. You should choose to rush because it will change your life and enhance your college career. Going to college is an enriching experience and getting involved should be one of your number one priorities. Pledging a fraternity is the easiest way to get and remain involved on campus. Amongst all of the student leaders on campus at Nicholls State University, the vast majority belongs to Greek organizations. At Nicholls, the stereotypical fraternity does not exist. If you are interested in getting involved, meeting life long friends, enhancing your life, your campus, and your community, you should seriously consider going through fraternity recruitment.

"Why should I rush Sigma Alpha Epsilon?"

"The True Gentleman is the man whose conduct proceeds from good will and an acute sense of propriety, and whose self-control is equal to all emergencies; who does not make the poor man conscious of his poverty, the obscure man of his obscurity, or any man of his inferiority or deformity; who is himself humbled if necessity compels him to humble another; who does not flatter wealth, cringe before power, or boast of his own possessions or achievements; who speaks with frankness but always with sincerity and sympathy; whose deed follows his word; who thinks of the rights and feelings of others, rather than his own; and who appears well in any company, a man with whom honor is sacred and virtue safe."

- John Walter Wayland

The sentence above is the creed of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and the members of Louisiana Chi strive to live by that creed each and every day. No member considers himself a true gentleman, but as a brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, he aspires to be as true to the ideals and teachings of our fraternity in all aspects of his life. As a brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Nicholls State, you will be surrounded and supported by great, true friends who are there to guide you through your college career.

We pride ourselves on our scholastic achievement, as we are the fraternity with the highest GPA on campus. We pride ourselves on our athletic ability, as we are continuously taking home championships. We pride ourselves on remaining true—true to ourselves individually and as an organization.

Great things happen in our chapter. Great young men join Sigma Alpha Epsilon, but they leave the undergrad chapter different. They are better leaders, better friends, and better men. Joining the Louisiana Chi chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon will give you the opportunity to travel the world and get involved on Nicholls' campus. We have good relations with each of the four sororities on campus. Let us show you how and why we stand out. Rush SAE.
